Who we are  

The Alliance's West Division office is based in Birmingham. We support our Alliance subcommittees in the following ways;

  • Growing local membership
  • Creating networking opportunities for local member and childcare provider groups
  • Identifying new business opportunities which promote the learning and development of very young children and their families
  • Providing practical support services for parents / carers and very young children.
  • Developing positive partnerships and links with local authorities and other partners across the area for mutual benefit

Where we are

Our office is directly opposite New Street Station in the centre of Birmingham. Our region is widely dispersed and covers many beautiful rural and coastal areas, as well as large towns and cities, from Staffordshire in the North, to Cornwall at the tip of the country.

We cover; Staffordshire, Birmingham, Solihull & Black Country, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Gloucestershire, Coventry & Warwickshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.

What we do 

Each subcommittee delivers a range of services either through contracts with local authority partners or other organisations, or receive grant funding to deliver local projects:

Some services our subcommittees currently deliver include;

  • Co-ordination of children’s centre services in various locations including governance, leadership, family engagement and administration
  • Family Learning contracts such as Early Words Together, Peeps, Bookstart, Early Learning Family Support and Stay and Play services
  • Management and delivery of successful, high quality pre-school provision across the region.
  • Inclusion support for early years, early literacy projects, training programmes for early years practitioners and support for voluntary Stay and Play groups
  • Family visit support at Stoke Heath prison in Market Drayton, Shropshire which may involve managing Family Days and Being Dad parenting courses, which offers prisoners the opportunity to record a story onto DVD for their children in the Storybooks Dad project
