Learning and development

The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards of learning, development and care for every child from birth to five years old and requires Ofsted-registered providers to deliver effective, structured learning and development experiences for very young children in their care.

The aim is to build a strong, positive foundation for future learning by supporting children to learn and develop in a way that best meets their individual needs, and actively involving parents in the learning process.

While baby and toddler groups do not need to be registered with Ofsted, they offer an ideal way for parents to engage with their child's learning right from the start.
