Sustained Shared Thinking workshop — Sheffield
'Sustained shared thinking’ is a term which sums up an approach to Early Years teaching and learning which goes beyond simple conversations between staff and children.
In an episode of sustained shared thinking two or more individuals (children together, or adults and children) ‘work together’ in an intellectual way to solve a problem, clarify a concept, evaluate activities or extend a narrative etc.
Both parties must contribute to the thinking and it must develop and extend.
This workshop aims to provide information and support towards embedding this approach into the work of settings.
