Welcome to the Autumn term.  

 


Over 50 Alliance members joined us for our  Member Forum focusing on the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) at Hemingford Pavilion, located in the heart of the beautiful villages of Hemingford Grey and Hemingford Abbots.

Member feedback was positive.  Comments included:

  • 'Relaxed approach; opportunities to interact; good amount of information'
  • 'Ability to listen to other view point and to see how that aligns with my thinking'
  • 'Presented in a clear and easy to understand manor; very relevant'
  • 'Provided information on how organisations should become GDPR compliant'
  • 'Raised awareness for our organisation on making sure we are GDPR compliant by 25 May'
  • 'I have a much better understanding of what I need to review / implement and add to our existing policies and procedures'

NCFE CACHE Level 3 and Level 2 Early Years Qualifications

Pre-school Learning Alliance are planning to deliver a qualification course in your area – (courses are delivered where there is a demand, so please contact the training centre to register your interest and we will alert you to the next available course.) 

Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) and Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Early Years Education and Care. Click here to download the flyer.

A partner in a  Big Lottery Building Better Opportunities project covering Greater Cambridgeshire Greater Peterborough Area

Community Connections is a programme supporting young people, older workers, low skilled workers, migrants and other hard to reach groups into education, employment or training. 14 organisations from different sectors each with its own specialist area of focus will work together to meet the multiple and complex needs of participants leaving a lasting legacy. We will actively encourage participants to engage in community events and take on volunteering opportunities in order to gain important experience and feel more connected with their communities. Participants will be more connected to the local labour market, more connected to local services and support organisations are better connected.  

This programme is match funded by the European Social Fund and the Big Lottery Fund

As a Service Hub of the Pre-school Learning Alliance, we support approximately 300 members in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough including pre-schools, day nurseries, toddler groups, nursery schools, children’s centres and individuals.

We have been providing high quality support and advice to providers of early years education and childcare across East Anglia for more than 25 years.

Flexible Workers  

  • We are looking for flexible worker staff for our directly managed pre-schools, some offering a breakfast and after school club, across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Haverhill.  As a Flexible Worker you will be required to cover staff training and other absences (possibly at short notice), to support the team in providing inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children attending the group and to maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment.

Working in partnership with local families, Alliance members, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Suffolk Local Authorities and Children’s Centres, they ensure our services meet and exceed expectations.

Collectively they hold a range of qualifications including; Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management (awarded by Coventry University) Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years workforce, Early Years Practitioner and Level 3 Information, Advice and Guidance.

Payroll Service

We offer a fast, efficient and cost effective payroll service for Early Years and Childcare settings.

To ease the burden of administering monthly payroll, once a setting is registered, all they need to do is send us the required employee’s information each month.

We calculate the tax and national insurance deductions, auto-enrolment payments and then payslips are sent to the registered person ready for them to pay their staff.

All year-end reports are produced including P60’s.

Alliance members benefit — no set-up fee

Our service includes:-

  • Initial set up of your employees and PAYE scheme on our specialist payroll software
  • Calculating Tax and NI deductions
  • Monthly submission of RTI to HMRC
  • Employee Auto-enrolment assessment
  • Enrol all eligible staff to your chosen qualifying pension scheme
  • Auto-enrolment payments
  • Producing payslips and payroll summaries
  • Processing new starters and P45’s for leavers
  • All year-end reports including P60’s
  • On-line filing of year-end return to HMRC

Our focus is on families and the barriers to employment, training or job search.  Working with local early years providers, we will support families to access childcare and understand the funding available to allow them to undertake training, job search or employment. 

As a training provider of early year’s qualifications we can support them into apprenticeships or qualification training.
