OAP Conference
— Deliver Top-Quality Observations & Assessments To Inform Best-Practice Planning
Add this event to your calendar 24 February 2010 , The Royal National Hotel, London
Are you focusing on the unique child or concerned with ticking the box? What information are you recording as an observation? Is your planning flexible or topic led? Nursery World’s ‘Deliver Top-Quality Observations & Assessments To Inform Best-Practice Planning’ conference, being held at The Royal National Hotel, London, on 24 February will help you to guarantee positive learning outcomes for children by ensuring that your planning is accurately informed by your observations and assessments.
Examine the theory and practice of OAP through peer-to-peer good-practice examples of how to demonstrate quality improvement and ensure positive learning outcomes by using observations and assessments to inform planning. Sessions will cover:
- Constructive Observations: Understand the importance of quality not quantity and deliver best-practice observations that lead to informed planning.
- Effective Assessments: Effectively analyse your observations and pinpoint what stage of development a child is at to guide you in the planning of future activities.
- Best-Practice Planning: Use your observations and assessments to develop flexible plans that incorporate both child-led learning and adult-initiated activities
- Include Parents In OAP: Examine parental-engagement techniques to encourage them to participate and aid child learning and development.
Pre-school Learning Alliance members are entitled to a £75 discount to attend this event. For more information, email lucy.kinnear@haymarket.com.

Delegates will access a range of seminars to inspire, support and inform continuing improved and effective practice; network with other professionals and see resources and equipment at the exhibition.
