Our approach
- We offer families a safe and caring environment where babies and young children can learn and develop.
- Individual programmes are developed for each child to reflect their abilities, interests and special educational requirements.
- Every child is supported by a key worker and parents are regularly kept up‑to‑date about their child’s progress.
- Alliance settings follow the EYFS framework and the Every Child Matters agenda.
- We provide a broad range of fun and challenging activities both indoors and outdoors.
- Families, staff, volunteers and the community are actively involved in service development.
- Our practitioners give advice on benefits, training opportunities and family support services.
Successful partnership working
Strong partnerships with local authorities across England enable us to deliver a wide range of services. As a lead partner in the Neighbourhood Nurseries Initiative and, more recently in Children’s Centres, we make a real difference to families in disadvantaged communities.
Qualified and experienced teams
Our settings are led by experienced and qualified managers. Staffing levels exceed the adult:child ratios and all training and qualification requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Every team member:
- undertakes a comprehensive induction training programme.
- receives an individual training, career and personal development plan.
- can take progression routes to qualified teacher status and other higher level qualifications.
Every setting manager:
- is given support on human resource management, finance, legislation, policy and business management.
- is supported locally by an area manager
Best value
Careful management of overheads and regular negotiation of supplier contracts along with the important role played by volunteers and parents ensure that we deliver services cost effectively and competitively.
Costs per childcare place for individual settings are determined by factors such as affordability for parents, property costs such as rent, rates, maintenance and areas where it is possible to spread or save against fixed costs.
