Individuals - looking for childcare qualification

Your route into learning

You may be:

There are many routes to work in childcare. Pre-school Learning Alliance has the training routes to help you make your career decisions and make your ambitions a reality. Our staff can provide you with the best advice and guidance on the routes that are right for you.

Alliance training has a great reputation for the support it provides.

“Learners receive very effective pastoral and academic support from their trainers and learners appreciate the time taken to support them in their studies.” Pre-school Learning Alliance Report — Ofsted 2007

Learners value the support they receive from other learners and from their tutor. Employers report that staff grow in confidence and enthusiasm, and are keen to learn more.

Funding

Local authority funding for training varies from area to area. Contact your local education authority for the current position.

The Alliance has access to public funding that subsidises the costs of training.

Young people aged under 18 and people on income related benefits, and those for whom their study will lead to their first qualification at level 2 or above receive free training. We can also help out with some of the other costs of learning including books, travel and childcare for people aged 19 and above and live in a low income household.

There are many levels of qualification. Click on the links below to find out more about each programme.
