Helping you provide the best
For your setting to be able to provide the best care and education for children and families you need a knowledgeable and committed workforce. Qualifications bring increased confidence and improved staff motivation. When staff are qualified they feel ‘part of the team’ and staff retention improves.
The Alliance can provide the qualification training solutions that you need to keep your setting in line with regulatory requirements. Settings with a high proportion of qualified staff are more likely to be able to provide the highest quality childcare.
Our highly experienced and qualified teaching and assessment staff all have experience in childcare settings. They understand your objectives as a childcare provider. They are committed to supporting your staff to succeed and excel.
The Alliance can provide the following programmes:

Funding
Local authority funding for training varies from area to area. Contact your local education authority for their current position.
The Alliance has access to public funding that subsidises the costs of training.
Young people aged under 18 and people on income related benefits, and those for whom their study will lead to their first qualification at level 2 or above receive free training. We can also help out with some of the other costs of learning including books, travel and childcare for people aged 19 and above and live in a low income household.
Qualifications changes – Level 3 Diploma for the children and young people’s workforce (Early Years)
Qualifications for the children and young people’s are in the process of change. However all the qualifications currently acceptable for regulatory purposes will continue to be acceptable after the new qualifications are introduced.
The Alliance will be providing the new qualifications when they become available.
Checking the standing of qualifications
When recruiting for new staff or checking the qualifications of existing staff it can be useful to have an independent source of information about the standing of the wide range of qualifications that have been taken in the past. You can check this using the Children’s Workforce Development Council’s Qualifications list for those delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage http://www.cwdcouncil.org.uk/qualifications-list
