Round and Round the Garden...
Between Saturday 18 and 25 of June, the Pre-school Learning Alliance will be encouraging all its members to celebrate Playweek as part of National Sure Start Month.
Building on the achievements of the many successful Teddy Bear's Picnics held in previous years, Alliance members are being invited to go one better in 2005 by running a Teddy Bear Toddle which not only has the advantage of getting those tubby teddies into shape — highlighting all those health living messages — but can be run as a sponsored event.
Funds raised will be split between individual settings and the Alliance's Pre-school Child Appeal which aims to fill the shortfall in support for pre-school places among disadvantaged families with children in areas where needs are currently not met by other childcare funding initiatives.
Pre-school Learning Alliance Chief Executive Steve Alexander said:
"Playweek provides a great opportunity for our members to participate in the celebrations around National Sure Start Month. I'm really looking forward to bringing my Teddy along to some fun events!"
He adds:
"It's great that through taking part in such a fun activities we can really make a difference to a child's life, through the Pre-school Child Appeal".
