Alliance comments on 'Manifesto' for children

Commenting on today's launch of Children forward not back, Pre-school Learning Alliance Chief Executive Steve Alexander said

"Any move that puts children at the heart of policy making is welcome. In particular, a commitment to reducing child poverty and increasing resources to support parents will be of long term-benefit to children and their families. It is it crucial that parents continue to have choice in childcare, to ensure they get the services they need locally". Investment in providing a healthy start for children is also welcome. However, a similar commitment to invest in the early years is long overdue, to ensure that healthy eating habits are established before children reach statutory school age"
