Commenting on the appointment of the new Children's Commissioner for England, Steve Alexander, Chief Executive of the Pre-school Learning Alliance said:
"As a national charity, supporting over 15,000 member early years settings and one of the largest voluntary providers, the Alliance is very pleased to note that Al Aynsley-Green has been appointed as the new Children's Commissioner for England. We are looking forward to meeting and working with the Commissioner on the implementation of the Children Bill and the Government's ten-year strategy for childcare. The affirmation of the importance of children and young people in Society by appointing a champion to safeguard their interests is a welcome step."
