Pre-school Learning Alliance appoints Business Development Director

The Pre-school Learning Alliance, the largest educational charity representing the early years sector, has announced the appointment of John Theedom as its new Business Development Director. John joins the Alliance from the London Borough of Bexley, where he was Childcare Business Manager for three years.

Welcoming him, Steve Alexander, Chief Executive of the Pre-school Learning Alliance said

“I am delighted that John is joining us as Director of Business Development at a time when we continue to push towards fulfilling our strategic goal of providing day care and extended services for families in even more Childrens Centres”.

“John brings with him extensive experience of developing multi-stakeholder services and will be an invaluable asset to the Alliance as we look to expand our directly managed pre-school provision. With early years and childcare so high on the public agenda, this really is an exciting time for the Alliance and I look forward to working with John in the coming year”.

Commenting on his appointment, John Theedom said

“I am very pleased to be joining an organisation that has been at the forefront of diversifying into directly managed provision in recent years. I look forward to the challenge of helping the charity meet its ambitious target of expanding its provision”.

  2. John Theedom joins the Alliance from the London Borough of Bexley, where he was the local authorities Childcare Business Manager. His career has involved various senior roles managing strategic business units, mainly in transport and tourism working for Stena Line, but also in the manufacturing environment. He has an MBA as well as a professional qualification in logistics.
