Family Fun Day on Saturday 16th June
On Saturday 16 June all children and families are welcome to take part in a wide range of fun activities. There will also be information stands about early years services and specific groups dedicated to supporting dads and male carers in Croydon. This fantastic event is part-funded and organised by the Croydon branch of the Pre-school Learning Alliance, the largest voluntary sector provider of quality affordable childcare and education in England. The event is also sponsored by the Local Network Fund and the Croydon Education Authority.
Organised to coincide with Fathers Day, the event has a special focus on dads, celebrating the importance of fathers being involved in their child’s early education and family life. Dads, and the rest of the family, will enjoy taking part in a circus workshop, arts and crafts and side shows. Children will also have the opportunity to be coached by Crystal Palace Football Club, driving on go-karts, and bouncing on trampolines and inflatables. With a range of interesting stalls and refreshments available, there will be more than enough to keep everyone entertained and amused.
Jill Shay, Development Worker and one of the organisers of the event said:
"We are really looking forward to welcoming children and families from the local community to the Fun Day. With lots of fun activities it is the perfect opportunity for families to take time out and enjoy doing things together. Dads are especially welcome to join in with their children – the perfect Fathers Day gift for everyone!"
Tim Kahn, co-ordinator of Pre-school Learning Alliance father involvement project said:
"This fun event is a brilliant way for families to spend this Fathers Day weekend together. It is a great reminder of the important role fathers can play in their children’s lives.
