As a subcommittee of the national Pre-school Learning Alliance, we support 400 members in Hertfordshire including pre-schools, day nurseries, toddler groups, nursery schools and individual members.

Our Executive Committee of volunteers meet half-termly to discuss early years issues and priorities of our members. These volunteers are elected at our Annual General Meeting in October.

Our contract with Young in Herts is to:

• Promote, encourage and support pre-schools to develop flexible provision
• Support settings with sustainability and business issues
• Provide support for management committees
• promote the marketing of pre-schools
• Support pre-schools to engage actively with providers and partners within their children's centre community
• Encourage parents participation in their child's learning

Along with the work we are contracted to do with Young in Herts we are also the lead agency for eight Children's Centres in Hertfordshire, see our Children's Centres page for more information

Another large area of our work is training, we offer training for early years professionals and workshops for parents, see our training page for more information.

Our termly newsletter keeps everyone up-to-date with local issues and events. This is posted to all members in the middle of each term.
