I am looking for a childcare setting for my child and I do not know where to start looking. Can you help?
Choosing childcare can often seem a daunting task. For some help and advice, please see the Parents section on our website.
Your local Alliance Pre-school Development Worker is also on hand to provide you with practical, impartial advice to help you find the most suitable childcare for you and your child.
Please contact the Information Services team on 020 7697 2595 or email Information Service for the contact details of your local Pre-school Development Worker.
There are also many other places to turn for information and guidance:
- Sure Start is a government programme that was established to help provide the best start for children. Their website http://www.surestart.gov.uk/ offers advice for parents on finding and choosing the right childcare for their young children and contains details of the financial help that is available to help meet the costs of childcare.
- The Children's Information Service can provide you with a comprehensive list of childcare providers in your area. They can be reached through your local authority or by contacting Childcare Link on 0800 2 346346 or visit their website http://www.childcarelink.gov.uk/.
- HM Revenue and Customs website http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ can provide further information on the range of financial support available to people with young children and how parents can access the support.
If you would like further information on this topic, please contact the Information Service team who will be happy to help.
