Children are our future. Children and their carers are at the very heart of our society. The places where young children spend time learning and developing are key to community development and cohesion.
The demand for childcare services for children under five years is enormous and growing. The Alliance reaches 800,000 of these children via 15,000 locations. To meet this demand we rely on more than 40,000 dedicated volunteers. We also rely on the support and generosity of companies, grant-making trusts and members of the public. People like you. We are continuously seeking way to diversify income and achieve sustainability and grow our future services. We welcome new partners to help us realise this.
Today, the demand for our services is greater than ever and nurseries are constantly feeling the pressure in terms of increasing demands of quality and administration, in an environment of shrinking funding. For many settings, funding is sufficient just to keep them standing still, covering only basic costs. But in a climate where settings are expected to grasp new opportunities and demonstrate on-going improvements in their service delivery, standing still is not enough.
